Frederick Church of the Brethren: A Place of Welcome Where People Find Peace, Purpose and Power Through Jesus Christ
Ministries at Frederick Church of the Brethren

Visitation

Our congregation offers an extensive visitation ministry to those in need of care-giving in their home.
Currently, there are three major categories/arenas of caregiving ministry in the life of our congregation.  Combined, these three initiatives provide visits at least fives times a year to those on the congregation’s visitation roster.
  • Visitation Team: A compassionate team of lay volunteers visit in February and August of every year.  These persons share in meaningful, supportive conversation, along with offering personal prayer.

  • Deacons: Members of our Deacon Body visit after each Love Feast,  (usually in March/April and in October) and in December, to deliver Christmas Baskets.

In the course of these visits after each Love Feast, our Deacons offer home communion, offering the “bread and the cup” to those home bound and not able to participate in regular communion.

  • Pastors: Each pastor visits persons, as requested, as special needs are identified.  Any member/participant in the life of congregation can request a pastoral home visit, or ask that a visit be made to a member/participant in the congregation.
