SCRIP Cards

PURPOSE
The Scrip Program is the primary fundraiser for FCOB Youth programs. It is an ongoing program that allows for fundraising with No Cost/Expense to the purchaser.
Simply defined; Scrip is any substitute for currency.
Although the cards are often thought of as gift cards and can certainly be used this way, the goal of any Scrip program is to have consistant support through the purchase of cards for use during "routine spending",
i.e. what you plan to spend money on, like groceries, pharmacy gas, etc.

HOW Scrip WORKS; Participating retailers offer prepaid cards for their businesses at a discount, when purchased either in bulk or through a Scrip center (we use the Great Lakes Scrip Center). The cards may then be sold by a non-profit organization for face value, allowing for a small profit on each card sold.
Participating retailers percentage discount varies from as little as 1.5% to as much as 16%.
Here at FCOB we have two types of Scrip, those cards that we keep in-stock and those that are available by special order.

There are several ways to purchase cards;

Sunday mornings at church. There is a table for Scrip sales set up in the main hallway to/from the Sanctuary. Sales begin around 9:30am and end around 12noon. Current order forms are always avaialble on the Scrip table.
From any internet connected computer, orders can be placed by going to: shopwithscrip.com When you order this way, you will need to set up an account and must use our organization code (18ECCB1L4341). Here you will have full access to all the cards avaialble through the Great Lakes Center, as well as the option to "reload" cards that are eligible for custom loading. You will have a choice of on-line payment by direct account debit or payment to your Scrip coordinatior
Right Here. You may scroll down and browse the catagories, all in-stock items are clearly marked. If you place an order this way your Scrip coordinator will contact you regarding payment and when your order will be ready for pick up. (Note - cards that have a choice of $500.02 are actually $1,000 denomination)

Please note, special orders may take up to two weeks before they are available and may require payment before they can be placed.

Orders for Christmas must be placed no later then December 13th.
