 Developing disciples is vital to the church. Our Spiritual Development Path enhances each person’s connection to the church and God through Bible study, prayer, classes, small groups, and much more. Our Spiritual Enhancement Path also provides an "pathway" toward church membership. The metaphor of a baseball diamond is used to connect each of these components. The Batter’s Box Alpha: A basic, 101 introduction to Christianity. A fuller explanation is found elsewhere on this website. First Base FCOB 101 Life Together: In this course, we explore ways to live a Purpose Driven Life, the richness of our denomininational/Brethren/Anabaptist heritage, and the meaning of membership in the faith community. Second Base FCOB 201 Maturity in Christ: In this course, we explore our personalities and discover our unique connection point with God. We also discuss different methods of prayer, scripture reading, worship, and many other disciplines that connect “who we are” to effective connection with God. Third Base FCOB 301 Servant Leadership: In this course we explore how serving God can be one of the most rewarding things we do as His disciples. In that regard, we learn our passions, our gifts, and our “serving style” in order to find a place in the church where we can lead with the gifts God has given us. Home Plate FCOB 401 Reaching in and Out Together (RIOT): Finally, in this course, we start “running home.” We explore our own personalized way of sharing God’s Word, God’s love, and God’s hope through Jesus. This class will be an opportunity for each person to discover his or her unique story, along with accessing tools to share that story, in Christ with others. So, are you ready to “get off of the bench” and into the game? Are you ready “to hit a homerun” in your development as a follower of Jesus?
